How many times have we walked on the beach and seen a piece of plastic and pretended we didn’t see it because it wasn’t ours? How many times have we moved some plastic away while swimming in the sea? We have all done this at some point in our lives.
Until we were on the beach with our two year-old son, and he, like any other child his age, began to put in his mouth whatever he found in the sand.
That’s not the legacy we wanted to leave.
Currently, there are 150 million tons of plastic in the ocean. It is estimated that every minute the equivalent of a garbage truck is discharged into the sea.
